Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment
of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;
or the right of the people peaceably to assemble,
and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Frequently I see people posting "What should I do?" Here's some good basic advice to follow to (try to) keep yourself safe, online:
- Get a good antivirus program, and update it frequently!
- Get a good firewall, and use it!
- Get a good spyware / adware program, and update it frequently, then use it!
- Use a different password for each and every place you have to "log in" to.
- Change your passwords frequently.
Yes....this involves some time and work. It's crucial to do it, even so. With all the phishing attempts out there, you must be pro-active to maintain your security. And that's before you even start thinking of what hackers can do! Then, after taking these steps, keep a close eye on your bank accounts and creditcard accounts. Monitor them for suspicious activity. And if you even think you might have fallen prey to a hacker or a phish attack, contact your bank and credit card companies and let them know. They will help monitor your accounts, and even walk you through the steps of cancelling your accounts and setting up new ones, if you and they should decide your situation warrants it!

(Please note that individual posts, as well as whole discussion threads, that have taken place on eBay's discussion boards have a way of disappearing....so if links to "threads" don't work....that's why.)
